Yakap at Halik Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Yakap at Halik Multi-purpose Cooperative was founded by Mr. Jose Illustre in 2006 intended to provide livelihood programs to its members and community. The cooperative personifies its vision which is “yurakan at alisin lahat ng sangay ng kahirap” that means “to trample and get rid all aspects of poverty” as they are gearing toward prosperity of not only the cooperative, but as well as the lives of its members.

Yakap at Halik started small having initial capitalization of Php 18,000.00 and was moved by 80 members. Through “bayanihan” that typically lies in the culture of Filipinos, the cooperative initiated selling of candies, peanut butter, and longganisa where they are also the ones who prepared the products.

Yakap at Halik encountered multiple challenges while building up trust and strengthening relationships in their organization. With no experience in business management, the cooperative sought out assistance from institutions to fulfill their financial needs and acquire knowledge from the training and seminars provided to better administer the cooperative.

UCPB-CIIF Finance and Development is one of the reliable financial institutions that we could have learned when in need of financing and training for microfinance management and marketing strategies.
Yakap at Halik has now a total of 8 satellite offices in Quezon Province and established production facility for commodities such as ketchup, coco spread, vinegar, soy sauce, coconut sugar, copra, hardware, and aquasilviculture.
